EICRs

An EICR is like an MOT of the electrical installation. The most competitive quote is not always the way to go as you will not always receive an honest report. We price our EICRs to make a profit rather than relying on the fact there will be additional work required to make it worth our time.

We do not complete major works, for example complete or partial rewires, so if we state additional works are required, there is no conflict of interest for us to produce more work.

We carry full van stocks in which we keep the majority of materials required to rectify issues to allow us to issue a satisfactory EICR. For example, sockets and switches to replace damaged items and smoke alarms. This saves landlords money, rather than having to reattend and charge an additional callout fee.

Maintenance

We carry out reactive and planned maintenance services, from changing light switches to complete or partial rewires, we undertake all electoral works to rental properties to a very high standards. We carry full van stocks so that we can carry out jobs quickly and efficiently whilst on site and avoid wasting time and money. We are also happy to arrange the appointment with tenants or estate agents, saving the landlords hassle.

What will an EICR entail

Tests are carried out on all wiring and fixed electrical equipment. The EICR inspection will verify the condition of switches, sockets and light fittings. We will also check the condition and type of wiring, black rubber coated cables, fabric or lead must be replaced with modern PVC cables. We will issue an Electrical Installation Condition Report, which identifies any deterioration, defects or dangerous conditions.

Why do you need an EICR?

A landlord in England within the private rented sector (PRS) is required to have electrical installations checked every five years, though as a homeowner, the recommendation is every ten years.
